KEUSH
Keush embodies the excellence of high-altitude winemaking in Armenia, where purity and precision are shaped by an extreme terroir. Founded by Vahe Keushguerian, a key figure in the revival of Armenian wine, the estate is located in the village of Khachik, on the country’s southwestern border, surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes.
The vineyards of Keush lie between 1500 and 1750 meters above sea level, making them among the highest in the world. At 1750 meters, they are the highest vineyards in the Northern Hemisphere dedicated to producing wines using the traditional method. These exceptional plots, composed of ungrafted vines aged between 60 and 100 years, reflect a rare and preserved viticultural heritage.
The estate focuses on indigenous Armenian grape varieties such as Voskehat, Khatouni, and Areni, which express the unique character of this high-altitude terroir with finesse. Extreme climatic conditions — significant diurnal temperature variation, intense sunlight, and volcanic soils — give the wines remarkable freshness, elegant tension, and great aromatic complexity.
Through this demanding approach, Keush contributes to the preservation and promotion of Armenia’s winemaking heritage, revealing the full potential of its ancestral grape varieties in a style that is both precise, pure, and distinctly modern.
