Stork Areni – Montepulciano is a dry red wine crafted from a unique blend of 80% Areni, Armenia’s iconic indigenous grape, and 20% Montepulciano. Produced by Cascara LLC, this wine combines the elegance and freshness of high-altitude Areni grown in the Vayots Dzor region with the depth and richness of Montepulciano cultivated in the Armavir valley. The vineyards, situated at around 1,000 meters above sea level on volcanic semi-desert soils, benefit from Armenia’s continental climate, creating grapes with remarkable concentration and character.
The 2023 Stork is an expressive and well-balanced wine with aromas of cherries, pomegranate, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with soft tannins, refreshing acidity, and a harmonious combination of ripe red fruit, earthy nuances, and delicate mineral notes. Partial aging in French oak barrels adds texture and complexity, resulting in a velvety finish. Versatile and food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with tapas, cold cuts, pasta dishes, poultry, grilled fish, and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
