ZULAL

In Armenian, the word "Zulal" means "pure", a concept that perfectly captures the philosophy of this winery. Founded in 2017 by Aimee Keushguerian, descendant of a family of winemakers, Zulal Wines is dedicated to showcasing Armenia’s indigenous grape varieties. After training alongside her father at the Keush estate, Aimee launched her own project with a clear vision: to craft wines that reflect the authenticity and elegance of Armenian terroirs, with minimal intervention in the cellar.

The Zulal vineyards are located in the Arpa Valley, at the heart of the historic wine region Vayots Dzor, renowned for its volcanic soils, high altitudes, and pronounced continental climate. These extreme conditions make it possible to produce wines that are both refined and distinctive. While Areni and Voskehat remain Armenia’s flagship grapes, Zulal also stands out for reviving rare varieties such as Koghbeni from Tavush and Milar from Vayots Dzor. Through this commitment, the winery plays an active role in preserving and promoting Armenia’s rich viticultural heritage, bringing nearly forgotten grapes back to life in a modern context.
