TRINITY CANYON VINEYARDS

The story of Trinity Canyon Vineyards began in 2009 when three friends, founders of the renowned restaurant The Club in Yerevan, decided to venture into the fascinating world of wine. Their goal was clear: to offer Armenian wines of unparalleled quality. With the support of passionate winemakers, they established their vineyard in Aghavnadzor, a village nestled in the heart of Vayots Dzor, one of the world's oldest wine regions. This unique terroir, characterized by volcanic soils, mild winters, abundant sunshine, and altitudes reaching up to 1800 meters, provides ideal conditions for viticulture. From the very beginning, Trinity committed to organic and sustainable winemaking, leading to the production of Armenia’s first certified organic wine. In 2020, their Trinity 6100 Areni 2018 won a gold medal at the prestigious Challenge Millésime Bio in Montpellier. This dedication to eco-friendly viticulture enhances biodiversity, allowing bees and birds to thrive in vineyards free from pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

At the helm of Trinity Canyon Vineyards is Hovakim Saghatelyan, co-founder and executive director, often described as a "philosopher of wine". As the author of Aygi, he plays a key role in promoting Armenian wines. Alongside him, Artem Parseghyan, an experienced winemaker with over ten years of expertise, teaches at the Wine Academy of Yerevan. Holding two Master’s degrees in science, he blends technical expertise with a deep passion for wine. While Trinity experiments with international grape varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, its true identity lies in Armenia’s indigenous grapes. The Areni grape, the country’s signature red variety, is the foundation of Trinity Eh and Trinity 6100, named in homage to the world’s oldest known winery, discovered in the Areni-1 cave, dating back 6100 years. Innovation meets tradition through the use of clay amphorae (karas) for winemaking, an ancient technique that Trinity continues to preserve with its natural wines, Trinity Ancestors' Areni and Trinity Ancestors' Voskehat. With its unique approach, blending authenticity and expertise, Trinity Canyon Vineyards stands as a key player in the revival of Armenian wine.
